Sneha Prasad is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. She defended her PhD in 2024 from the Interdisciplinary Research Division at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and Applications, Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur.
Her research interests include Digital Image Correlation (DIC), Computer Vision, System /Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), Industry 4.0, Sensor Drift Analysis, Fog Computing, Cloud Computing, and the Internet of Things. During her PhD, she developed lightweight, open-source code for real-time Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of aircraft and wind turbine towers. Her thesis, titled "Performance Enhancement of Feature-based Techniques for Real-time Structural Health Monitoring," presents a series of standalone feature-based techniques that, when integrated with traditional Digital Image Correlation (DIC), enhance the robustness and efficiency of monitoring the health of large structures. The developed algorithm uses the computer vision technique and automatically identifies the dynamic response of the large structures. She is actively working on designing solutions to monitor the effect of vibration on the health of large structures. Her expertise is building lightweight models to detect vibrating patterns using non-destructive technology.
